Father’s Day 2022 will soon be here. You may have been thinking about doing something really special for your dad this year, especially in light of the world situation over the past two years.

We have some pretty amazing suggestions for you on what you may be able to do for your dad to make this Father’s Day really memorable. We’re featuring four fantastic destinations and an activity in each. Any choice is likely to have your dad smiling from ear-to-ear, especially since he can include his loved ones!

D.L. Bliss State Park in Lake Tahoe

Duane L. Bliss was a lumber baron who made his fortune in banking, logging, and railroads during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In 1929, the Bliss family donated 744 acres of their property to the California State park system. Today, you can soak up the beauty of the park, with its attractive picnic spots, pleasant lakeside areas, and lovely sandy beaches tucked away in densely wooded groves and accessed by a two-mile hike. What an idyllic place to spend the day with your family! The park's Lester Beach and Calawee Cove are among the loveliest beaches in Tahoe. You will enjoy the crystal-clear waters; basking under the warm summer rays, and relish the perfect conditions for fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and paddleboarding. D.L. Bliss State Park is also amazing for hiking, especially the Rubicon Trail with its sensational views of Lake Tahoe. This 4.5-mile trail leads to Emerald Bay State Park. There is also a two-mile extension trail past the Vikingsholm Castle. Other hikes include the Lighthouse Trail, leading to a historic lighthouse, and the Balancing Rock Nature Trail, featuring a 130-ton granite "Balancing Rock," resting on a narrow stone base.

When staying in Lake Tahoe, you will want to stay in the lap of luxury and one of the most elite Lake Tahoe homes is undoubtedly Villa Harrah. You will get to learn about the history of different genres of music – jazz, pop, Motown, and more, learn about famous Grammy moments the year you were born, see changes in fashion with displays of extravagant outfits worn by famous musicians, watch clips of performances and Grammy moments in the theater, and guests’ favorite – view an exhibit where you can hear how the sound of music has changed with different audio formats, from records, 8-tracks, cassette tapes, Boom boxes, CDs, to digital/immersive. Snap a few pics of the exhibits of items that once belonged to your favorite legends: BB King, Jimi Hendrix, Jerry Garcia and others. There are Taylor Swift, TuPac, Michael Jackson, Ella Fitzgerald, Leonard Bernstein exhibits and many others. The museum even has some movie memorabilia on hand. This really is a must-do for any lover of music.

Currently, it houses an exhibit called Every Wall is a Door, an abstract look at how people affect the environment. Works are from various artists, including the art collaborative teamLab, and noted light sculptor, James Terrell. Superblue is a journey, not a destination. So you really only have one place to start, and that’s at the beginning.
