When you have to check the time, there’s nothing better than having an elite watch to look at and Hermès has added another to its lineup – a new iteration of its Cape Cod watch, the Cape Cod Crèpuscule, due to hit the market between June and July 2022.
The stylish timepiece combines digital art and nanotechnology and joins a satellite-tracking watch new on the block for adventurous types by O-Boy, which you might want to check out. The Crèpuscule features a dial design combining a high-tech punch with a very contemporary and contemplative graphic art pattern.
A Take on the Original
Crèpuscule translates to “dusk” in French and is a nod to the original abstract piece by graphic artist Thanh-Phong Lê depicting the moment the sun dips into the azure waters at sunset. The artwork adorns the dial of a model introduced by Hermès 31 years ago and known for its unique square-within-a-rectangle case design as much as for its cult fashion status.
- Shape/dimensions: Rectangular, 29 x 29mm, “square in a rectangle”
- Material: Steel
- Glass: Anti-reflective sapphire crystal
- Water resistance: 3 bar
- Type: Quartz, Swiss Made
- Functions: Hours, minutes
- Blue-tinted monocrystalline silicon dial with photolithographic transfer, gold coating depicting the “crèpuscule” (dusk) motif created by artist Thanh-Phong Lê
- Navy blue calfskin
- Wrist circumference: 6.6-7.5”
The Cape Cod Crèpuscule retails for US$5,025.
