There is nothing like docking your yacht next to a fine dining establishment after hours cruising in the sun, laughing and enjoying the company of family and friends, disembarking and completing a perfect day with a gastronomic feast and drinks. At the end of the evening, if you choose to stay at Villa Roxanne, you can sail across the bay and dock in front of the villa. This magnificent modern masterpiece has it all including a rooftop terrace for gazing at the nighttime view of the city while having a nightcap.
If you are in town for the Miami Grand Prix – or whenever you’re in the Magic City – and you have been using your own vessel or have chartered a yacht, you will definitely want to take advantage of these three marvelous dock and dine restaurants:
Seaspice Brasserie and Lounge
A fine example of a gastro-classic fine dining experience, Seaspice is in an amazing location right on the Miami River. The restaurant’s digs used to be a post-industrial warehouse, still retaining some of the greatness of the past. This is a venue loved by locals, tourists and celebrities. There is plenty of room for docking a super yacht.
We recommend: Signature wood-fired casseroles, free range Australian herb-crusted rack of lamb with Harissa mint yogurt sauce, and cocktails with crafty spins.
Casablanca on the Bay
Locals revere this eatery as having the best seafood and best view in the city. It certainly is one of the most popular Miami boat up restaurants. The owners have 20 years under their belts and also run a commercial fishing operation, so you know the seafood is literally right off the boat. This restaurant can accommodate larger vessels.
We recommend: The Raw Bar with choices like raw oysters, various types of ceviche, and tuna tartare, among others. Or try the grilled ribeye with a red wine bourbon reduction, potatoes, and asparagus.
The Deck at Island Gardens
Here you have one of Miami’s most exquisite super yacht marina outdoor lounges. Easy docking gets you into this lovely venue quicker. You’ll definitely want to cool down with one of their signature cocktails that look like works of art. Sit comfortably at full-size dining tables or in waterfront cabana lounges.
We recommend: The seafood tower featuring gulf shrimp and Passmore caviar along with Alaskan king crab, chilled mussels, clams, Maine lobster, tuna tartare, ceviche of the day, large stone crab, and east and west oysters. If you aren’t a seafood lover, try the Black Angus filet mignon with asparagus, and spiced chimichurri.
