September 29, 2022

New York City is a destination that merits a visit any time of year, however, it becomes even more exciting during the festive months of November and December.

The city that never sleeps is all dolled up in November for the yuletide season to come, so spending Thanksgiving in Manhattan this year will provide even more for you to do. The United States celebrates Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 23 this year and celebrating it with your family in The Big Apple may be an exciting prospect.

If you have been thinking about doing something different for Thanksgiving, read on for some ideas on what you can do in New York City.

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

New York awaits this parade with open arms. All eyes will be on Manhattan this year for one of the country’s most celebrated parades and after two years during the pandemic, the parade will be back to normal with onlookers lining the sides of the streets on Thanksgiving Day where excited children will be waiting to get a glimpse of Santa. Watch the march of floats, giant balloons, clowns and marching bands along with celebrity performances in one of the best events in the city in November. This nearly 100-year-old yearly event usually starts at 77th Street and Central Park West and heads down to 34th Street to Macy's Herald Square. There are various VIP options allowing you and your family to view the parade in privacy and comfort.
